You can use the text, videos, and formatting just like the sample site, or create your own content. I will need you to provide a paragraph or three about yourself and/or your practice to include on your "About" page, but the rest is already done for you if you want to use it.
Your own website will help your marketing efforts. Save money on Yellow Page ads by purchasing a smaller ad and including your web site address. Use craigslist to promote your work and classes and giving people a link to more information. Include your web site on business cards. You get the idea...you need a web site!
A couple common questions I'm asked are:
- Can I update my own site?
- Can I host my site somewhere other than with you?
Yes, you can update your own site. You'll need to buy the software necessary to make updates yourself and learn to use it. Adobe Contribute ($200) is a good choice, or you could get a copy of Adobe Dreamweaver ($400). You probably don't need the latest version, so you might be able to find a bargain on an older version. If you have a student id, you can often purchase this software for a large discount at academic software websites and college bookstores.
Yes, you can host your site wherever you like. You'll be responsible to upload the pages to your own hosting company, or provide me with the correct login and ftp information to access your site. If you'd like me to make updates to your site, I highly recommended hosting with us. The reason I started offering hosting was because of the extra time it was taking me to deal with the hosting company's some clients were choosing. Saving a couple dollars a month is great, but sometimes the cost of cheap hosting is far higher than the price you pay for better service.

Blog Option. Have your own Blog embedded into your site for $295 (Hosting with us required for this option, you'll also need periodic updates to keep the blog secure and for new blog features). This is the easiest way to add new content to your site and gives visitors a reason to return.
